Ken first became attracted to aviation during his early childhood when he observed a neighbor fly his experimental gyroplane above the sugar-cane plantations in southwest Puerto Rico. He was hooked! Later in high school he joined the Civil Air Patrol, taking his very first airplane ride in a C172. After high school graduation he enlisted in the Army to drive M-1 tanks in Germany, but soon realized how much he wanted to fly. When his enlistment was completed, he went to Florida Tech and obtained his Commercial Pilot certification in 1992. He subsequently became a reservist with the Florida Air National Guard, flying onboard C130 aircraft as an Airborne Communications & Electronics enlisted aircrew.
From 2007 through 2009, Ken became a flight instructor and had the opportunity to teach in Florida and overseas in the country of Jordan where he used to fly over the ancient city of Petra on a regular basis. Afterwards he became a claims examiner with the US Government. He is now in the process of obtaining his Commercial Pilot certification in helicopters. Ken has joined our team of instructors and hopes to share his life-long passion for flying with others.
