Jeff began flying as a freshman at University of North Dakota where he earned commercial single and multiengine airplane certificates, an instrument rating, as well as a Certified Flight Instructor certificate with an instrument rating, ultimately graduating first in his class in 2009. Following college, Jeff attended US Navy Officer Candidate School after which he commissioned as a Naval Officer. Jeff served four years in the Navy as an Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer specializing in maintenance, in addition to the five years he spent previously as a Combat Medic in the US Army. While in the Navy, Jeff worked part time as a flight instructor at Virginia’s largest flight school, earning there the Multi Engine Airplane rating for his CFI certificate in addition to his commercial seaplane certificate, and advanced ground instructor and instrument instructor certificates.
